A Drawing's Itinerary

Not so long ago, I was glad to share one of my drawings - titled Villa Rodizio - which was featured in an exhibition in Berlin.

The drawing was also part of an online article in the Berliner Woche:

Fast-foward a few years and this drawing is on the cover of the book I wrote with Irina Moga

:

If the old Latin adage  is true that "every book has its destiny" (apud Terentianus Maurus), maybe it may also follow that every drawing has its itinerary.

I am glad that this drawing's progression has brought it on the cover of a pictopoems book.
And I look forward to its next metamorphosis.😙

Pictopoems of Berlin - Book Trailer

Here is the tiny book trailer for the book "Pictopoems of Berlin" authored by me and Irina Moga.

We tried to inject a humorous note in it...with the title "Going to Berlin?".

I hope you like it!

My New Book "Pictopoems of Berlin" Available Now In Paperback

Dear friends:

I am very glad to announce that the new book  "Pictopoems of Berlin" - with original art by Tatiana Arsénie and poetry by Irina Moga is available now at www.Amazon.de.

I hope you enjoy it - it makes for an enjoyable read and an elegant gift.

Here is the description of the book from the back cover:

Pictopoems of Berlin blends original art and poetry in a walkthrough of Berlin and its reflection on our imagination.

Made for the art, literature and travel aficionado, the book fuses the boundaries of drawings and poetry in an unassuming and introspective manner.

From its pages, a dreamy walkabout of Berlin emerges - with its boroughs, cafés, churches and architectural landmarks – that take us to less known corners of the city.
Tatiana Arsénie’s sketches of Berlin impart a secretive and fiery air to buildings and urbanscapes.

Irina Moga’s poetry adds an off-the-cuff commentary to capture the fleeting moment.
Decades after the fall of the Berlin Wall, Pictopoems of Berlin brings us a view of Berlin – “a terrace verging on silence” - in praise of freedom.

The Romanian Bear At The United Buddy Bears Exhibition In Wittenbergplatz

Some images from The United Buddy Bears exhibition at Wittenbergplatz - open from July 4th to August 14th, 2017 in Berlin.

I am the creator of the Romanian Buddy Bear and this particular bear's decorations are inspired by Romanian medieval art and themes of the Cucuteni ceramics:

If you are in Berlin, drop by the exhibition at Wittenbergplatz for some enjoyable photos with the Buddy Bears! Here some of the moments that I captured:

KLANGSEDIMENT - SCHATENSPUR: SOUND SEDIMENT - SHADOW TRAIL

KLANGSEDIMENT - SCHATTENSPUR   SOUND SEDIMENT - SHADOW TRAIL

...is the imaginative and fantastic title of  the latest art show organized under the auspices of the Graphik-Collegium Berlin e.V.

The show's creative and (almost enigmatic) title subtly heralds the crisscross of concepts, colors, lines and visions of a group of artists whose work is gathered in the Studio Bildende Kunst building at number 13 John Sieg Straße in Berlin.

It's left to the viewer to insert his or her own musings into this tiny labyrinth of shadow trails and sound sediments and to jump in and get at the visual clues.

The elegant and classic beauty of the rooms hosting the show do nothing but enhance the sensorial exuberance that grips us as we enter the space...so if you have never set foot in this art environment before, it's probably a good time to experience it yourself.

As a participant in this show I am glad to be able to share in its sizzling atmosphere that fits well into  Berlin's  spring air and its daring artistic pace.

A few images from the show's opening night and one of my creations are included (Break of dawn in Lychener Straße) in this post for your viewing pleasure....

If you want to follow along in this unique shadow trail and sound sediment  (KLANGSEDIMENT - SCHATTENSPUR) in person here are the details:

New Exhibition in Berlin - April-May 2015 - Tatiana Burghenn-Arsénie and Anne Marei Lepinski - SO GESEHN (THUS SEEN)

Here is the poster to my newest exhibition - SO GESEHN (THUS SEEN) that will be open from April 10th, 2015 to May 15th, 2015.

I am very excited about this exhibition as it plays upon a question often raised: how will a glimpse of reality surface in a painting?

To propose alternate viewpoints of a similar visual journey, my paintings are paired up with those of Anne Marei Lipinski in a 'duo' of lines and colors.

You are cordially invited to the exhibition and its opening night - on April 9th, 2015 at 19:00 hours.

Thus seen, the mirage of the sight and movement awaits your own reflections on the subject.

I hope you will be part of it...

Stefan Friedemann and His School

Puppets in the afternoon light by Stefan Friedemann

An exciting new exhibition opens its doors on Friday September 13th, 2013 at 7pm at the Lichtenberg Museum in Berlin:

Stefan Friedemann and His School

Stefan Friedemann is leading the Graphik Collegium of which I have been part for several years now.

The artwork in the exhibition includes creations by Stefan Friedemann and the group of artists he mentors.

One of my works - "Awaiting the Model" is included in the exhibition.

Awaiting the model by Tatiana Burghenn-Arsénie

This work was created on the spur of the moment on one occasion, in which the model that everyone was waiting for at the school never showed up.

As the consequence, the group asked the ma
ître to pose for the class and a flurry of drawings ensued.

Here are the details of the exhibition
